7. The Phoenix Zoo
It was about time we listed a zoo as an attraction in one of our articles, right? And since we’re talking about one of the largest zoos of its kind in the States on this particular occasion, it’s a good thing we made the call when we did. This happens to be a privately owned non-profit zoo, which even has a special section dedicated to animals found exclusively in Arizona. The most famous resident of the Phoenix Zoo is by far Ruby the Elephant; the reason for her fame became known in 1973, when she displayed her ability to paint with a brush and canvas for the very first time. So, if you’re looking for places to visit in Arizona, definitely pay Ruby a visit.
