Situated on the Loire, one of the longest rivers in the country, the Chateau de Saumur resembles the one you’re likely to take a peek at when starting to watch a Disney movie. Its towers and windows seem to be taken from a princess story, but the fact is that the construction didn’t have the same looks over time.
Although it was built in the 10th century, it was Henry IInd of England the one who perfected the present elegant appearance of the site. If you’re traveling with your family and the kids, maybe you’d enjoy visiting the Musee de Figurine-Jouet which can be found inside the castle.
