4. Valdez
Situated right next to the Chugach National Forest, Valdez is a town found in southern Alaska. Just off of the Prince William Sound, Valdez is set on Valdez Arm. It continues to remain a picturesque, postcard-worthy Alaskan town, regardless of the fact that it is a hugely important industrial and commercial hub in the region. When talking about top places to visit in Alaska, Valdez is not one to be overlooked. Why? Because it offers countless outdoor recreation opportunities, such as backcountry hiking, ice climbing, fishing, river rafting and many more. Don’t make the mistake of ignoring this place, folks (we almost did).
