10. Kilauea, Hawaii
When it comes to the most visited tourist destinations in the U.S.A., Hawaii is definitely pretty high up on the list. The entire Hawaiian Archipelago was, in fact, created by a series of volcanoes, with Kilauea being the most recent one.
Since 1952, no less than 33 eruptions have taken place at Kilauea, every single one of which was an invaluable opportunity for volcanologists to learn more about this natural wonder. And you’re going to love this: the current eruption – the one happening right now – started on January 3, 1983. How cool is that?!
