10. Ruginoasa Palace (Ruginoasa, Iași County)

The Cuza Memorial Palace of Ruginoasa is located in Iași County. The palace gardens offer you an insight to local history with some sculptures of the most important Romanian rulers. The edifice itself was constructed in the early 19th century in Neo-Gothic style and was just recently renovated. It houses a museum dedicated to Alexandru Ioan Cuza, the first ruler of the United Principalities, currently open to visitors.

    I love this list. Although Romania’s castles and fortresses may not be as opulent or don’t have an intricate architecture, I think that at least some of them are seriously underrated, especially when considering when and how they were built. Thanks for sharing.
