10. Sirogojno
Some call it a self-styled “ethnic village”; others refer to it as an open-air museum. How ever you want to call it, Sirogojno is a cozy and quaint village that boasts period timber structures the likes of a bakery, an inn, as well as a traditional Serbian dairy.
An excellent place to sample the local food and refreshments, this place also features locals ready to demonstrate the region’s traditional arts and crafts. Much like the age-old recipes that are passed down from generation to generation, arts and crafts, along with most Serb’s true pride – their family’s recipe book, play a central role in Serbian history, as best viewed in this staple of Serbian country tourism.
