10. Isle of Arran
A truly wee corner of the country, the 166-square-mile, affectionately called “Scotland in Miniature” attraction is quite lovely. A mirror image of the landscape found on the mainland, it features plenty of friendly people, great golf, fishing harbors, castles, wildlife, sandy beaches, moorland and majestic mountains. We recommend allowing at least a few days to explore this wonderful island, even though Goat Fell Mountain and Brodick Castle (the two main attractions) can be visited in less than a day.
