9. Lankaran City
On the marshy coast of the Caspian Sea stands one of the most ancient cities of Azerbaijan, Lankaran. Archaeological excavations showed that men settled here very long ago, in the Bronze Age. The city appeared much later, in the 10th century BC. With its respectable age, the city saw a lot during its life. In the immediate vicinity of the city there are thermal springs, whose water is used for medical and general health purposes. But this place is particularly popular for its beaches with black sand. Tourists searching for historical attractions should visit the Lankaran fortress, built in the 18th century.
