10. Carmel-By-The-Sea, California
Scenic small towns throughout the United States have a variety of names, ranging from quaint to ultra-modern. Carmel, as it’s often referred to, falls in the former category. One of the main reasons why Carmel is so popular among travelers, and especially Californians, is because everything is so conveniently close that you only need walk a few steps and you’re pretty much there.
That goes for both the sandy, white beaches in town and the delicious food joints, boutiques and architecture. And speaking of the beach, the Carmel Beach Festival is hosted by the village yearly, along with several other events all year long.
