10. Big Bend National Park
This wonder of nature can be found on the frontier with Mexico, which is to say, in the southwestern part of the state. More precisely, it’s located just around the great bend in the Rio Grande; not surprisingly, that’s also where the park got its name. When looking for the best places to visit in Texas, Big Bend National Park should be on everybody’s itinerary because of many reasons. More than 1,100 species of plants and 400 species of birds have a home here. Additionally, there are also 240+ miles of hiking trails in the park, ranging from 5- to 17-mile hikes.
