10. Pyramid Lake
Not many people are aware of this, but there are many incredible lakes hidden away throughout the amazing landscapes that comprise Nevada. Arguably one of the most breathtaking ones is Pyramid Lake, found on Nevada Route 447, just 16 miles north of Interstate 80 and 33 miles northeast of Sparks. A Native American tribe is in charge of managing it; a unique job, by the way, thanks to the fact that the lake reflects the stunning blue sky and spreads out between gorgeous, low mountains. Popular activities here include wildlife watching, fishing, hiking and abundant water sports. When it comes to places to go in Nevada, the lake, which got its name after the limestone formations found in its middle section, is a definite recommendation from us.
