10. Potsdam
The Christmas markets from Potsdam are charming, and if you have at least one free day, be sure to come here to stroll through the decorated stands, that are more like a part of a wonderland. Even if you speak perfectly English, it can be useless to you when we are talking about a trip to Germany. Germans are very proud of their language and you might be put into the situation to have to be ready to learn several new German words in order to communicate with the locals.
However, Potsdam seems to be an exception, because namely here you can find Christmas markets based on the traditions of certain countries and nationalities. For example, you can head to the Bohemian Christmas Market – in Czech style, or the Sternenmarkt – a Polish market, or the St. Nicholas at Hollandhaus – the Christmas market located in the Dutch district.
